Criminal Defense Attorney
Mukesh Haridat is a New York criminal defense attorney representing clients charged with misdemeanors and felonies throughout Suffolk County, Nassau County, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and New York City.
Before opening the Law Office of Mukesh Haridat, Mukesh served as a staff attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County, where he gained substantial experience representing individuals in criminal court. Today, he handles cases from arraignment through resolution, including bail applications, discovery, motion practice, plea negotiations, suppression hearings, trial preparation, sentencing, and trial.
Courtroom & Trial Experience
Mukesh has served as lead trial counsel in a felony jury trial, personally handling trial strategy, opening statements, witness examinations, cross-examinations, evidentiary issues, and presentation of the defense. He also regularly appears in criminal court for hearings, contested motions, negotiations, and other proceedings where a client’s freedom and future may be at stake.
His approach to criminal defense is straightforward: examine the evidence carefully, understand the law, identify weaknesses in the prosecution’s case, and prepare every matter with the possibility that it may need to be litigated.
More Than a Case Number
Before becoming an attorney, Mukesh spent more than fifteen years as a self-employed entrepreneur. He built businesses, raised a family, and experienced the same successes, responsibilities, setbacks, and struggles that come with everyday life.
Coming to the law later in life has shaped the way Mukesh represents his clients. He understands that good people can find themselves in difficult situations and that, at those moments, people often need more than legal advice, they need someone they can trust to stand beside them.
To Mukesh, clients are not simply case numbers. They are neighbors, parents, sons, daughters, business owners, employees, and members of the same communities in which he lives and works. He strives to understand not only the case, but the person and the life behind it.
Mukesh earned his Juris Doctor from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center and is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
